Sew over it - (intermediate level) 1940's tea dress sewing pattern KT1509-08
The 1940's Tea Dress is a stunner of a dress. Based on vintage fashion from the 1940's, the dress features gathered bust detail, a paneled midriff and skirt, flattering elbow length sleeves and lovely contrast cuffs. We love to add three decorative covered buttons down the centre front for a lovely extra bit of interest.
The 1940's Tea Dress is definitely one for you intermediate sewers. You will be using tricky fabric for this dress, so it's best to have some experience working with lightweight drapey fabric before you tackle this pattern.
The pattern contains full instructions with beautifully illustrated diagrams to help you along. And if you get stuck with anything, don't forget you can find our 1940's Tea Dress Sewalong on the blog!
Materials required: a drapery woven fabric such as a crepe, georgette or rayon. You will also need a 22 inch invisible zip.
