Is there a minimum order?

Unfortunately yes. There is a minimum order of £5 per order, this is to cover our free packaging and postage.

How long is my parcel going to arrive?

Please allow for up to 2 working days for orders to be dispatched. Depending on the number of orders received on the day, most orders received before 7pm will normally be dispatched the following working day. For instance, if you made your order at noon on Wednesday, your order will normally be dispatched on Thursday. We will notify you by email once your order has been dispatched. Please allow additional working days for Royal Mail to deliver your parcel, this depends on the delivery options you have chosen.

What type of card payment do you take?

We accept all major credit cards and debit cards – Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Switch/UK Maestro, Delta, Visa Electron and Solo. We also accept payment by PayPal if you have an account.

Is it secure to pay online? What information do you take?

All payments made online are authorised in a secure environment by an accredited payment service provider. My Fabric House Ltd does not take or store any payment details. PayPal is our primary credit card processing company. PayPal is one of the safest and most secure ways to pay for items online. It uses the highest level of encryption available for internet transactions. When you make a payment using PayPal, your payment details and sensitive information are stored securely by PayPal, once the payment has been cleared, PayPal electronically notifies the merchant without sharing your credit card or banking details. For security purposes, we do not take payment over the phone. We do not accept cheque due to fluctuation of our stock level.

What’s a fat quarter?

A fat quarter is a term used to describe a quarter of a yard. Our fat quarter size varies from fabric to fabric depending on the roller width. In most cases, it measures about 50cm x 50cm. The approximate dimensions are specified on each individual product page.

Is all your fabric pre-cut into fat quarters? What happens if I want to order continuous lengths?

Yes! We have done all the hard work for you and all of our fabrics are pre-cut into fat quarters and half meters for speedy dispatch. We understand that you may want to order continuous lengths. For very popular fabrics, we sometimes stock meters that you can purchase directly from our website. When a specific fabric is not available as meter, you may place a pre-order. The average lead time for pre-orders is normally 2-4 weeks. Please note that there is a minimum order of 2 meters in any one design. Our pre-order works this way:

1. Inform us the fabric code (e.g. FQ1310-15) and the quantity required

2. Make payment for the invoice

3. Your pre-order will be dispatched in 2-4 weeks (FREE UK delivery)

Can I cancel my order?

When we received your order, we normally process your order on the same day and it will be dispatched the following working day. Once you have placed your order, we cannot accept any cancellation. If you have mistakenly placed your order, you must let us know by email, quoting the order number asap. But we cannot guarantee that your order can be cancelled. When your cancellation is successful, we will arrange a refund as soon as we can. You will receive a confirmation email once the amount has been refunded to your bank account. Please allow up to 5 working days for this process.

How can I return my parcel?

We hope you’ll be delighted with your order, but we understand that sometimes you may wish to return item(s) to us. You can return any item within 14 days of receipt for a refund of that item, excluding any postage costs. All returns are subject to our returns policy. Simply enclose a return form in your parcel and post it to:

Do you have any gift voucher available?

Gift vouchers are available in £20, £30 and £50. Gift cards are delivered by email and contain instructions to redeem them at checkout. You may print out the gift card using your printer. Vouchers may be redeemed for any products that are listed at My Fabric House website. To redeem the gift voucher, simply enter the voucher code when prompted on checkout. Please note that the voucher can only be redeemed in a single transaction. Gift vouchers are valid for 6 months from the date of purchase and it cannot be refunded. All vouchers are subject to our terms and conditions.

Do you offer any fabric samples?

We know that you may want to feel and touch the fabrics before you buy, unfortunately we currently do not offer sample swatches.

How do I care for the fabrics?

The following is a general fabric care guide. Always prewash all fabric before use to avoid shrinkage on a completed sewing project. Our tip is to use salt to prewash them. Cottons and linens are machine washable in cold water (30° or lower) preferably using non-biological washing liquid. Screen printed fabrics should be washed by hand. Polyester fabrics are machine washable but do not iron directly. Drying fabrics in a tumble drier is not recommended. All fabrics should be ironed on a low-temperature setting.

Can I use your fabric to make children’s toys?

Please be aware that all of our fabrics are intended for interior and craft usage only, they are not specifically recommended for making toys. It is your responsibility to carry out your own testing to acquire specific standard/certification, My Fabric House cannot be held responsible for providing relevant documentation. This does not imply that our fabrics are of inferior quality.

I bought some fabrics from you long time ago but I cannot find it on your website any more?

We know how frustrating it can be when your favourite material is out of stock. Some of our most popular products sell out quickly and we may not be able to restock them. However we always try hard to introduce new materials to refresh our range regularly. Products that are out-of-stock will not be shown on our website. If you need any help finding a particular material, you may contact us using the contact form.

Would I expect great colour discrepancy from the website pictures?

We have our dedicated team to do our best to adjust the colour of product picture as accurately as possible so that the colour matches with the actual product from our end. However colour variation can be significant depending on the graphic card and monitor used. Even if we have adjusted the colour correctly using our professional monitor and shooting equipment, the colour may still display differently on your monitor. Therefore we cannot accept any responsibility for colour and/or shade differences between the representations on the website and the actual product.
